Thinking outside the box (literally) when it comes to insulation.
Chances are good you think of insulation that goes inside a building. But our partner Rubb discovered it’s better to think outside the building when it comes to insulating steel-framed fabric buildings. Our buildings employ Rubb’s Thermohall® external insulation system, which offers significant advantages compared to internal insulation systems.
Internal insulation has to be placed in separate panels between the steel beams or trusses, which results in thermal loss and is prone to condensation. Thermohall® covers the exterior in a single envelope, providing a full vapor seal that minimizes thermal bridging and infiltration losses.
Available in R-Values of R-11 to R-35, Thermohall® is water repellant and won’t absorb moisture or odors. It features a high strength PVC outer layer, non-combustible wool insulation in air-tight pockets, and a self-cleaning inner layer. The system is not only highly effective, it’s highly durable, with a 20+ year life.
Roof and interior surfaces are provided in high-gloss white to reduce solar load on the outside , increase reflectance within the building, and provide a stable indoor temperature year-round.
Unlike traditional insulation, Thermohall® leaves the interior structure exposed, allowing for easy installation of, and access to, equipment and wiring.
