James Callan to join Cocoon as Chief Executive Officer
The Board of Directors of Cocoon Inc., a middle-market leader in innovative corrosion-prevention solutions is pleased to announce that James R. Callan has been appointed President and Chief Executive Officer, effective April 29th, 2024. Mr. Callan brings more than 30 years of proven business leadership to Cocoon.
Mr. Callan’s appointment marks another milestone for Cocoon. Founded nearly 50 years ago, Cocoon has long been known for its corrosion-prevention expertise, its innovative products, and its inventive approach to problem solving. Cocoon does business globally with all branches of the United States Department of Defense (DoD) and Foreign Military allies. The company provides products and services that protect military assets from the elements and reduce corrosion for the purpose of increasing readiness, decreasing costs, and extending asset lifecycles.
A respected leader throughout the industrial technology space, Mr. Callan brings to Cocoon a demonstrated track record of leading teams and companies through growth transformations – including executive positions at STC Materials Solutions, Consolidated Aerospace Manufacturing, A.M. Castle & Company, and The Timken Company. Over his 30-year career with multiple companies he has executed on a wide range of leadership mandates, from clear-sighted strategic planning and spearheading operational transformations to integrating add-on acquisitions for full value realization, both organic and inorganic.

Mr. Callan has been on the Board of the Aerospace Industries Association, American Chamber of Commerce of Mexico City, and American Chamber of Commerce of Singapore, as well as serving on the Government Contracts Council for the Manufacturers Alliance for Productivity. He holds an MBA in International Business from the University of Dallas Graduate School, a BBA in Marketing and Business Management from Northwood University and completed an executive program at UVA Darden School of Business.
