Aviation Blankets
After experiencing deficiencies and substandard performance in the legacy thermal and acoustic blankets on CH-47s, the Cargo Helicopter Program Management Office initiated a blanket modernization effort.
The outcome of that effort is Cocoon’s patented blanket system that is not only substantially lighter, but improves performance across the board. The result is more mission capability, increased readiness, lower maintenance costs, and extended lifecycles.

Not just modernized - revolutionized.
Thanks to extensive and exhaustive R&D, Cocoon’s patented thermal and acoustic blankets represent a major leap forward in blanket technology. Key features include:
Lightweight (saving 140+ pounds on the CH-47 once in use)
Highly air-permeable (mitigating/preventing corrosion of the hull and airframe)
Oleophobic (repels fluids, oils, fluids)
Redesigned attachment system (no 550 cord needed)

Cocoon Aviation Blanket Features
While each feature is important on its own, it’s the combination of features that makes the Cocoon blanket revolutionary.
Body frame or hull corrosion represents an annual cost of $300+ million to Army Aviation - three times the cost of any other aircraft component system corrosion.
