Chip Crotty has been active in the field of corrosion protection systems and strategies since starting the company in 1977. Under his leadership, Cocoon has come to be recognized around the world as a leading resource for the design and implementation of innovative techniques to prevent moisture-induced corrosion to aircraft, ground equipment, electronics, weapon systems, facilities and inventories in various states of use and storage.
Among other accomplishments, Chip has developed dehumidification programs for the Department of Defense and the Department of Transportation to protect war reserves. He has participated in the creation of industry standards for mothballing electric utility plans, and has developed equipment preservation storage standards for the protection of high value equipment at the job site before installation.
Chip leads by example in order to ensure the highest level of integrity to all our clients, and remains personally involved throughout the lifecycle of each project from inception through completion. He works directly in the field to understand exactly what the soldier needs and then uses that input to drive the engineering and innovation that support that need. With extensive military and industry connections, Chip is the conduit between various internal, client, and partner teams, aligning unparalleled expertise with effective, strategic solutions.

Ray has been an instrumental part of Cocoon for twenty-five years, and is responsible for engineering, design, planning, implementation, contractor logistical support and customer satisfaction. He manages complex installations at unique sites around the world, including numerous industrial, marine and military preservation and monitoring projects.
Ray was responsible for the simultaneous design and installation of preservation systems in seven pre-positioned MarAd ships stationed at different locations around the world. He also developed the “FleetWatch” control system which monitors ships anchored in the MarAd fleet for fire, flood and intrusion from shore-based computers. He has managed more than thirty large-scale utility preservation projects ranging from indefinite, long-term mothballing to peak performance lay-ups.
An expert in site negotiations, Ray is adept at troubleshooting and solving problems before they happen to ensure projects are complete on schedule and according to specification. His experience includes specialized knowledge regarding adherence to OSHA and EPA regulations, as well as local building codes, certifications and insurance regulations.

Mark recently joined Cocoon upon retirement from a distinguished, thirty-year career in senior management with Procter & Gamble consumer goods giant, Gillette. While there, he held a variety of manufacturing and operations positions – both domestic and abroad – with particular focus in the areas of supply chain, information systems, and product development.
In his role at Cocoon, Mark specializes in identifying opportunities for product applications and enhancements, process planning and assessment, and manufacturing and supply-side logistics. He is also responsible for strategic guidance of both Cocoon’s corporate as well as product development and partnership initiatives.
